今日は、ゴルフの歴史についてです。

日本では、神戸の六甲に初めてコースが出来たのは有名な話ですが、そもそものゴルフの歴史について調べてみました。

ゴルフが始まったのはイギリスで始まったといわれています。

ゴルフはもともとはイギリスの紳士がするスポーツとして行われていましたが、もともとはスコットランドでゴルフが行われていたといわれています。

ゴルフという名前は、北欧が起源になっていて、コルフという球を打って柱に当てるというスポーツからゴルフが始まったといわれてますが、オランダノフットコルフェンから来ているとも言われていてゴルフの起源はいろいろあるようです。

ゴルフの歴史で初期のゴルフはコースなどは存在していなくてモグラの穴を使ってゴルフが行われているといわれています。

またゴルフは今とはルールもやり方も違っていたそうです。

初期のゴルフは、ふたりのゴルファーが、１ホールずつホール内で打数によって勝つか負けるかを競っているゲームだったようですから今のようなゴルフとは少し違っているようです。

ゴルフは比較的古いスポーツで日本でも昔から行われていましたが、今ほどゴルフ場の多くありませんでしたしゴルフは中高年のスポーツというメージが強かったのではないでしょか。

ここ数年でゴルフは若い人たちにも人気が出てきましたしゴルフの実力のある若い人たちが増えてきました。

そして、女性にも人気が出て女子プロゴルフは現在では男子プロを凌ぐ人気で盛り上がっています。
